E-Books and Audio Books

The Albion library currently has over 2,000 e-books. Most are multi-use e-books. Multi-use e-books can be used in classrooms because every student can access the e-book at the same time. Students can download and access e-books 24/7 from a computer or a mobile device. About 60 books in our e-book collection are single use fiction books.

The library also has 154 downloadable audio books. Students can download and access audio books 24/7 from a computer or a mobile device. We also have 18 audio book-Playaways that can be checked out from the library.

Access the library catalog (Follett Destiny):

• Students have to log-in to Follett Destiny to access the e-books and audio books.
  • Go to the Albion Library catalog (destiny.canyonsdistrict.org)

  • Click on the Albion Library link
  • Click on the Follett Shelf button in the left-hand navigation bar
  • Log-in (upper-right hand corner)--active directory log-in (how you log-in on school computers)
• Teachers have a different log-in:
  • Go to the Albion Library catalog (destiny.canyonsdistrict.org)
  • Click on the Albion Library link
  • Click on the Follett Shelf button in the left-hand navigation bar
  • Log-in (upper-right hand corner):
    • Username: active directory username
    • Password: last name in lower case letters
    
    
• Find an e-book or audio book and open it
• Check out the book if you want to download it to your device.
• Don't forget to Close when you are finished if you don't want to check it out.

To find e-books by category from the Library Catalog:

• Click on the Copy Categories tab at the top of the Albion Catalog main search page. Scroll down to the e-book categories and select a category.

To browse quickly through a list of audiobooks:

• Click on the Follett Shelf link in the left-hand navigation bar on the Albion Catalog main search page.
• Click on Browse Audio Books, then search by author, title, or most recent.

To download a book to your mobile device using the Bryte Wave K-12 app:

• Download the free app Bryte Wave K-12
• Log-in with your active directory log-in (same as computer labs at school)
• Search for a book, then open it and check it out by clicking the "i" at the top of the page
• You should only have to log in the first time you use Bryte Wave
• After the book is checked out, you can download it to your device and use it without the internet
• When you Play Audiobooks on your device, they will download to your device
• It will be downloaded for the regular checkout period and can be returned early if you desire.
